Overview

Masjid al-Aqsa, translating to ‘the farthest mosque,’ holds profound significance as the third holiest site in Islam. Renowned for Prophet Muhammad’s (PBUH) Night Journey in 621 CE, riding on the Buraq, it remains a symbol of spiritual transcendence. The Prophet emphasized its exceptional qualities to the Sahabah, urging appreciation. Islam teaches that special journeys should be made to only three masjids: Al Masjid Al Haram in Makkah, Al Masjid An-Nabawi in Madinah, and Masjid al-Aqsa in Jerusalem. Prayers in these masjids bear multiplied virtue, with a single salaah in Masjid al-Aqsa earning at least 500 times the reward of prayers elsewhere. This sacred mosque embodies the essence of Islamic heritage and devotion.
